Being an Ohio-born GenX gal provided three points of inspiration for Caroline as she began crafting Willow’s story. An interest in history brought the second protagonist, Fortunato, to life. Frustration with the patriarchy drove her to explore the topics of female empowerment, goodness versus badness, desire, family, friendship, and the emotional complexities of womanhood.
The result? Her 10-plus-years-in-the-making debut novel, Emerald Eyes, which will be published by Aphrodite Media later this year. Set in Central Ohio, the saga follows the D’Agata family from 1913 through 1987, and explores the impact relatives can have on their decedents—even from beyond the grave.
Outside of her writing practice, Caroline enjoys aging, reading, living on the lake with her beloved Matt Davis, exploring the area, road trips, traveling abroad, hanging out with friends, sipping craft beer / spirits / cocktails / sake, savoring delicious meals, and watching live performances of all kinds.
